More than 150 veteran leaders, community organizations, elected officials and Goodwill executives gathered as the center was dedicated in honor of Thomas and Elizabeth Tierney, the local philanthropists whose $1 million gift made it possible.

With more than 130,000 veterans currently living in Orange County and approximately 6,500 veterans joining that group every year, there is a huge need for streamlined services in Orange County.

The Tierney Center for Veteran Services has enabled Goodwill to expand its comprehensive approach to serving veterans and their families. This new facility will serve as the single touchpoint for local warriors, connecting them with a wide range of personalized services designed to help them transition to civilian life – and all provided at no cost.

“Elizabeth and I saw an opportunity through Goodwill of Orange County to help our veterans heal,” said Thomas Tierney, local Orange County philanthropist. “It’s an exciting time as we aim to pay forward the gift of freedom that so many of our neighbors provided us through their service.”
