Latina Style Wars Winner Scores Designer Dress from OC Goodwill Boutique

style-warsMany of you are most likely acquainted with well-known OC mommy blogger, Pattie Cordova. But did you know she was also the recent winner of Latina Magazine’s Latina Style Wars?

In honor of American Heart Month, Latina Magazine hosted an Instagram competition in honor of el corazon, where followers were tasked to send in photos of them showing how they ‘Go Red.’ Pattie sent in a stunning picture from the grand opening of Beauty and the Beast at Segerstrom Center for the Arts wearing none other than a Marc Jacobs dress (pictured left) purchased from the OC Goodwill Boutique in Tustin. And she won!

We sat down with Pattie to ask her about the contest, the awesome red dress she scored at the Boutique, and what she loves most about shopping at Goodwill of Orange County.

Goodwill of Orange County: First and foremost, congratulations on winning the Latina Style Wars on Instagram! Give us a little background the contest and what made you want to enter.

Pattie Cordova: Thank you! Latina Style Wars is hosted by Latina Magazine on their Instagram account and they hold a weekly competition that surrounds a theme. This particular week’s theme was all about raising awareness for heart health. I chose to enter because I had a great red dress that I thought fit the theme to a T.

Goodwill of Orange County: We love the dress in the photo! A little bird told us that you purchased it at the OC Goodwill Boutique! Tell us about that particular shopping experience.

Pattie Cordova: I love shopping at the OC Goodwill Boutique. That particular day our family had decided to stop by after having breakfast and take a look around. I love arriving early when they open to try to grab the best deals. This gorgeous dress was on the dress racks in the left hand side of the store. I tend to stick to the front part of the store in my trips to the OC Goodwill Boutique. All the best brands are there!

Goodwill of Orange County: Marc Jacobs costs a pretty penny in stores! How excited were you when you found it at nearly a fraction of the cost?

Pattie Cordova: I was ECSTATIC! The original tags were still on – never worn.

Goodwill of Orange County: If you don’t mind us asking, how much did you pay for it?

Pattie Cordova: I paid a mere $24.99 for this dress. Total score! The dress sells for well over $150.

Goodwill of Orange County: Was that the first time you’ve found designer labels when shopping at Goodwill? If not, what other awesome treasures have you found?

Pattie Cordova: It was not the first time I scored such an amazing deal. I’ve found a Christian Dior blouse at OC Goodwill Boutique as well as Betsey Johnson dress, Banana Republic coat, MNG blazer, C&C California tanks and many pairs of Bordello heels in mint condition. It’s my go-to thrift store thanks to its fine selection of merchandise. Last time I was there – I found a pair of Christian Louboutin heels for $250!

Goodwill of Orange County: Aside from finding great deals on designer labels, what else do you like about shopping at Goodwill of Orange County?

Pattie Cordova: I like shopping at Goodwill of Orange County thrift stores because of the great work they do in the community. They offer so many services that I can support. Moreover, they do a great job at sifting through the merchandise! My Goodwill thrift store of choice is the OC Goodwill Boutique in Tustin, followed by Keepers in Lake Forest. I can always guarantee a great bargain.
