Kevin Celebrates 20 Years with the OC Fire Authority

“Plant seeds of expectation in your mind; cultivate thoughts that anticipate achievement. Believe in yourself as being capable of overcoming all obstacles and weaknesses.”
― Norman Vincent Peale

The best part of working at Goodwill is getting to meet a lot of the people we serve. Kevin stands out because he could have easily been one of the many individuals, who may have been overlooked if it weren’t for the absolute belief his parents had in him. Over time, Kevin made so much progress that he was ready to take on the challenge of getting his first job.

When Kevin first came to Goodwill, he displayed poor motor skills, his speech was difficult to understand, he had a short attention span and he lacked confidence and job experience. While his parents helped him with personal and domestic tasks, he needed the support and connections Goodwill could provide to help him get and keep a job. He started out as a janitor and later grew into a job with more responsibility at the Orange County Fire Authority.

Recently, Kevin was awarded his 20-year service pin. He lives in a well appointed apartment, takes the bus and often prepares his own meals. His co-workers declare Kevin to be an outgoing and enthusiastic member of the team. He makes it a priority to provide the highest level of service and consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of him. Each day Kevin has a positive attitude and is always attentive to other people’s well-being as he offers encouragement to his coworkers.

Kevin is an amazing man and everyone at the Orange County Fire Authority could not be more proud to call him their colleague and friend.
